All this in a clean attractively designed Casio housing. The display is particularly noteworthy, with its large numbers, it is clear, high contrast and easy to read at any time. The backlight works inversely by illuminating the digits themselves rather than the whole face. The buttons are large, non-slip and easy to use.

The internal “Module 3157″ provides much of what fans call THE Casio technology.

The time is displayed in all modes! Extra kudos to Casio for this! The markers for active alarms, daylight saving time etc. can be displayed directly. Operation and calibration of the compass is kept simple.

If I had to criticise something, then it would be the stopwatch, which includes only 60 minutes before ticking over. Also, the temperature measurement has limited usefulness because it will be distorted by your body heat.

These are minor issues though and so I’d give the watch a resounding 5/5 – well worth buying.

Even with a black LCD screen this watch makes fro easy viewing of the display in low light levels. The use of luminous material was omitted, in complete darkness are the pointer is not visible. The workmanship is typical of G-Shock in that its absolutely flawless, the resin housing encloses the working parts inside. Although the watch is large it seems to work well on smaller wrists due to the design of the rugged wrist strap.

The time can be displayed in the am/pm format or in the classic 24-hour format, an advantage over the smaller golden ladies version (LA670WGA) ruled that only the English time format. The display is made from mineral glass and so is resistant to scratching. Althoguh after a few years you can’t help but gain some scratching it is very faint.

All in all a great product which I can recommend any time without any hesitation.

Speaking of which, I love the design, too. It might be chunky and huge for some people, but itís just right for my wrist. Some people don’t dig the massive display but I have a problem reading small characters so it is definitely a big plus for me. Itís also very high-tech. It can read barometric pressure, altitude, and temperature. It stores and displays graphs for all these data… and if you don’t have a compass, this watch is pretty awesome.

In the durability department, Iíve had mine for years now and it still works fine. I’m quite the sporty guy and I love going swimming and scuba diving. As with any new watch, I had my reservations when I first brought it with me underwater. But I wanted to see if it the claims of the manufacturer were true. And what do you know.. it still works like a charm even after the many times I hit it on my scuba tank!

There were some things that concerned me though. For one thing, it took just the smallest things to mess with the accuracy of the data. The compass works perfectly well if the watch is laid flat. However, even just a tiny piece of iron could distort the reading. The thermometer showed some discrepancies, too. The truth is that this watch needs constant calibration in order to keep the sensors accurate, which is something that I forget to do at times. Also, the battery needs to be changed after every 5 years unlike that of an automatic. Keep in mind that its strap is only made out of plastic, which causes a lot of sweat to build up especially when I’m huffing and puffing up the mountain trail.

With all things said and done, the Casio Sport PRG-40-3VUR Pro Trek is an awesome piece of equipment. And for it’s price, you really can’t go wrong.

Good thing that it didn’t let me down. Talk about value for money especially with all its specs and features. For one, I found the resin strap very comfortable on the wrist. It fit snugly and I didn’t experience the kind of allergies I usually get when I use leather straps. Yeah, I know.. I’m in construction but my skin’s pretty sensitive, too. It’s interesting how I first had to adjust to the lightness though. This one is very light–sometimes I forget I’m wearing it at all. I’ve hit it a couple of times on some steel bars though and it’s been able to withstand that. I never thought that something so light could be this durable.

I’ve read other reviews saying that they have trouble looking at the display. In my case, I find the display very appealing. The gold numbers on black work fine with me except in conditions where the lighting is poor. This is okay, I guess, since I have the option to switch on the glowing back light and I can even set it to automatically light up when I tilt my wrist.

There is a need to wash the watch though especially when you sweat a lot like myself. It smells now so that’s a word of warning to those who are like me. Also, I never really got the chance to figure out how the Tide Graph works, which is its main feature. I’m sure that sailors and divers will find this most useful. I am quite happy with my Casio G-Shock G-9100-1ER since I’ve never had to take it for repairs yet, and it will be a while until I need a battery replacement.

Talk about a nice, sleek look that suits anyone–whether young or old, male or female. The clear LCD display and large numeral markers make it easy for me to read the time. It also has a backlight that I can activate to see the time when it’s getting dark out. Plus, it also has a date function that helps me keep track of all my important dates. One thing I don’t like about this watch, however, is the color. Since the watch strap is white, it easily gets dirty especially if Iím wearing it outdoors. I hate to sound like a dirty person. But there have way too many instances that I’ve had to scrub it clean because of its filthy gray color.

Have to give this watch props for its durability though! Iíve worn it several times during mountain hiking and it has never broken down on me. I also like it that sits on my wrist comfortably, and isn’t too heavy or bulky. The white polycarbonate strap also has a really nice feel on the skin. I also read online that it’s hypoallergenic. I’m pretty sensitive myself and I haven’t gotten any allergies or rashes while wearing it.

I know the alarm feature is quite standard for this type of watch, but I really appreciate the fact that it’s consistently gotten me up on several occassions. It is also water-resistant to up to 50 meters of depth, so I donít have to worry about it getting wet. Iíve even worn it while swimming and snorkeling and it’s still working fine. If you’re thinking of getting a watch, trust me when I say that you definitely will get your money’s worth when you buy an Adidas Peachtree Chronograph Watch ADH4000.

Because I travel a lot due to my work and I switch from timezone to timezone on a weekly basis, the Waveceptor technology is really convenient. Why? It automatically adjusts the time on my watch whenever I enter a new time zone. It also keeps my time unbelievably accurate. And did I tell you that it also fits snugly on my wrist, too? The bulky appearance can be deceiving, I tell you. It’s not heavy at all.

I also chose this watch because it’s a Casio. They’re known for their shockproof watches and Iíve been a fan of their G-shock series for quite a while. So what else… This watch has the usual features, really. It has multiple alarm functions, water resistance of up to 200m below sea level, an auto calendar that’s pre-programmed until the year 2039, and an Automatic Light Afterglow power-saving feature.

I love it but the watch strap could definitely use some improvement! I’m sure so many people would have wanted a more robust strap. It’s comfortable alright but it could break off any minute. I also struggle with the countdown timer and I find the alarm a bit too soft for my liking. But overall, the watch is definitely worth more than its price. I strongly recommend the Casio G-Shock Wave Ceptor GW-002E-1VER especially if you are the type who travels a lot or enjoys the outdoors.
